Operators of powered industrial trucks must be fully trained and employer  certified as required in recent federal regulation. As part of the regulation, truck operators are required to complete formal classroom training, practical hands-on training and an evaluation. Employers need an effective and comprehensive training program to meet  this OSHA regulation. Garrison Toyota helps you meet and exceed OSHA standard 1910.178 by offering specialized and comprehensive training materials and programs.

This 1 day class includes indepth classroom instruction and one full day in the warehouse on the skill courses using the knowledge learned.  This class offers certification of all 5 classes of forklifts, Class I, II, III, IV & V. Training consists of instruction videos with visual aids and discussions. A test will be administered at this time. Students are required to make 80% or better to pass the test. The last day consists of pre-shift inspection walk arounds and documented observations of each student operating the equipment through the courses. Our operator safety training programs include.

Following the written course, the tests will be graded and driver license quality operator ID cards will be issued.

The certification is good for 3 years or the operator must be re-certified if they have an accident or near miss.
